Piloted in 2015 to engage girls, ages 8 - 18 in sessions, activities, and opportunities that build confidence, teach life skills, encourage positive self-discovery, expresses the importance of education, and enables girls to create a vision of amazing possibilities for their lives.
The program provides girls with hygiene items, self-care kits, self-help books, journals; and connects the girls to resources.
C.U.R.V.Y Girls includes a health education component to help the girls grow and develop healthy habits for healthy living physically and mentally.
C.U.R.V.Y Girls are Confident, Unique, Respectful, Virtuous Girls that are Yearning to be the best they can be.
Launched in 2012, providing clothes, food, and hygiene products, along with enriching activities at a local women's shelter. The work continued each year providing support to a transitional living residence for women.
In 2014, Curve Appeal Chicago hit the streets and provided women and men who are homeless, with bags of essentials: hygiene products and snacks, along with hats, gloves, socks, and a message of hope, thus providing Bags of Blessings.
Curve Appeal Chicago has continued to provide Bags of Blessings both throughout the streets of Chicago, as well as to shelters or transitional living facilities for women.
Curvy Girls Slay is an empowerment campaign that uses Fashion and Beauty to empower women of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities, backgrounds, and ages to embrace their body and inner beauty.
